Sapsucker Stands: FAQ

  • How high can I go?

  • Are these sturdy?

Hunting from a Sapsucker is almost like standing on concrete when properly installed. The design calls for 4x4 posts with cross bracing making the Sapsucker extremely sturdy. And let me tell you, when you are standing up on a platform that is as solid as a rock, you have much more focus and confidence on your aim.

  • How do the Branch Holders work?

  • How long does it take to set-up a Sapsucker?

For example; it took a husband and wife team 35 minutes to set up their SapSucker 12 feet high. That is the total amount of time from start until completely finished. Just remember that if you are going 16 feet up you need to have a lot of help to get all that weight lifted that high up.

  • How much is shipping?

Shipping is $65 anywhere in the lower 48 States.

  • Do I have to anchor the Sapsucker to the ground?

We strongly recommend that you put a 24” earth anchor and a ratchet strap connected to the anchor holder located directly under the stand.

  • Where did the name SapSucker come from?

It’s a funny story actually. We had just introduced our new platform stands at the NRA show in PA under a generic name. At the end of the long show, we were sitting around a table talking about how successful Lee and Tiffany’s brand “The Crush” had been at the show. Our owner made a comment that Lee and Tiffany could have come up with any brand name and it would have been successful. He said “they could have called it SapSucker and it would be just as successful”. We all looked at each other and started laughing because we all thought the same thing. We had our brand!   Sapsucker
